Only six (6) detention centers in the state actually “break even” in their yearly operational costs—I’m proud to say Marion County Detention Center, under the leadership of Jailer Barry Brady, is one of them. Many counties our size still subsidize their jail budgets $500,000 or more per year!! This money saved allows our Fiscal Court to provide improving roads, EMS, fire and other vital services.”
