Legal Mail
All legal mail should be clearly marked "Legal Mail" on the outside of the envelope; mailed to the facility, and addressed in the following format:

Please note that the mail will be screened at a GTL facility and the actual physical mail will not be received at the Marion County Detention Center. The inmate will not receive the actual mail with their property upon release. They will only receive it in digital format. You can also send a digital message to your friend or family member through the getting out mobile app. Prohibited items in the mail include; Printed items from the internet, revealing photos, photos relating to criminal activity, or any type of obscene materials. Mail with attorney-client privileges should still be mailed directly to the facility. If you are sending a money order to place funds on commissary it should still be mailed directly to the facility, the envelope should only have the money order. (No letter or other correspondence should be in the envelope with the check or money order.
